We know how important it is to get the items you need quickly and conveniently. That’s why we offer simple ways for you to request items from our shelves for pick-up. Here’s how you can do it:
From the Catalog
- Login to the catalog at lis.southfieldlibrary.org/patroninfo using your name and Library Card Barcode.
- Search the catalog for the item you’d like to borrow.
- Click Request.
- Choose your preferred Pickup Location.
- You’ll receive an email once the item is ready for pickup.
From the Mobile App
- Click Catalog from the Home Screen.
- Search for the item you’d like to borrow.
- Click Place a Hold.
- Select your preferred Pickup Location.
- Click Request Item.
- You’ll receive an email once the item is ready for pickup.

Some items may be obtained for you through our inter-library loan services. If we purchase or inter-loan the item, a hold will be placed on it for you. Not all items requested will be added to the collection.
