An award for the best middle grade book of the year chosen by YOU!
Read as many of the nominated books as you like.
• You do not need register in order to participate.
• You do not need to read all 8 titles to participate.
Rate and Review the books that you read.
• Rate the book on a scale of 1 to 5 STARS and write why you gave it that rating.
• Librarians will tally up the number of stars for each book to determine the top three titles.
• Random prize drawings will take place throughout the voting.
Prepare for the Trivia Contest.
• In March of 2026 the top three titles will be announced.
• Trivia Contest takes place in March 2026.
• Arrive with your team of up to 4 people (limit 2 adults) to answer questions about the top three titles.
• Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place.

Who can participate?
Anyone interested in reading and rating the 8 preselected books. This includes children, parents, teachers, childfree adults. There is no registration. After you’ve finished a book, fill out a rating form at the Youth Reference Desk or online.
