Writing my Wrongs: Life, Death and Redemption in an American Prison with Shaka Senghor

February 15 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The Southfield Library, in collaboration with The Kresge Foundation and Book Beat, features a lecture and book signing with Shaka Senghor, the author of Writing my Wrongs: Life, Death and Redemption in an American Prison. Mr. Senghor, who is a Detroit native, turned his life around after spending 19 years in prison for second-degree murder. Writing My Wrongs is a redemption story told through a stunningly human portrait of what it is like to grow up in the gravitational pull of poverty. He now lectures across the country and champions justice reform. Mr. Senghor has been featured on the OWN network, telling his powerful story of forgiveness and redemption.

Books will be available for purchase and signing courtesy of BookBeat. Join us for this special after hours event.
